All that you are and all that you have, in terms of capabilities, is fundamentally linked to your nature. As a human being, you have a set of qualities that differentiate you from other living beings. And, understanding the nature of your being and the way God has intended it to function is of crucial importance for both the discovery and the release of your potential.
“Man was created a little lower than the angels, and has been getting lower ever since.” Josh Billings
The idea that human beings are capable of almost everything, and therefore can create the kind of life that they want – life filled with happiness and fulfillment – has been widely spread across the world with the rise of the Human Potential Movement from which the personal growth and self help industry derive.
According to the web encyclopaedia wikipedia, this idea springs forth from the philosophical theories of Existentialism and Humanism, and its emergence was linked to Humanistic Psychology.
Though this seductive idea might contain some truth in it, some of its related teachings are based on some beliefs which might be misguiding. Beliefs such as “All is God; God is all”, “human nature is dual, made of a soul and a body” and “the human mind is all-powerful, capable of overriding reality”, to mention but a few, are contrary to the facts that God is one, that man has a threefold nature and that he needs to connect to his creator if he wants to fulfill his life’s purpose. Embracing this idea without a clear understanding of your being and of how your creator has designated you to function might be spiritually dangerous.”
Understanding the nature of your being and its functionality is the first step to the discovery and the release of your potential.
You need to realize that you are a spirit living in a body, and that you possess a soul. Yes, you are a tripartite being, and you will never get a clear perception of your potential if you do not know how the three different parts of your being function; neither will you be able to unlock and unleash that dormant power.
