Taking Action: The Master Key to Releasing Your Potential.
According to Jerry Porras, builders, who are highly effective people, set themselves into motion on the path to achieving their life mission by organizing their thoughts and creativity around that which matter to them and by taking actions that are aligned to their core values and that support their life purpose. They know that “taking action” is the master key to releasing their potential.
“Once you boldly embrace action, you will stimulate, activate and release the force of your possibilities.” Michael V. Roberts
The large majority of people in our world go through life with what T.D Jakes calls a “survive-the-day” mindset. In his book “Maximize The Moment: God’s Action Plan for Your Life.”, He describes them as people who wake up every morning with only one goal in mind: get through the day. They don’t have any sense of purpose; they just go with the flow of the current, exposing themselves to all sorts of influence.
They live life as if it was a game and they were simple spectators, staring and cheering, booing and hissing at those who are sweating in the field. Having never thought of getting in the arena and make things happen, they live from a reactive perspective, always complaining, whining, gossiping, blaming other people, events and the environment.
They dream of worthy achievements while others stay awake and do them. They have forgotten or simply don’t know that “genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.”
Highly effective people, on the other hand, are proactive. They take action to shape the events of life and history instead of allowing themselves to be shaped by them.
Indeed you have a dream, a passion and a set of abilities and faculties which are different expressions of your life’s purpose at different parts of your being, but if you are not willing or too lazy to go out there and take action in order to turn your dream into reality, you will pass through life like a tourist and die frustrated and unfulfilled.
Success in life requires action.
Unless you take action and work out your dream, your potential will remain untapped and your dream a wishful thought or a fantasy. Taking action is the master key to releasing your potential. As Myles Munroe would say, it is the means through which God draws out your potential, open the door into your inner storehouse and teaches you how to use your talents and abilities to meet the demands of life.
In order to release your potential and set yourself in motion on the path to the achievement of your mission on earth, you first of all need to organize your thoughts and creativity around that which matters to you, then take actions that are aligned to your core values and that support your purpose.
You’ve got the ability to choose your response to the demands of life – demands that are nothing else but a call from your destiny to bring into manifestation what you’ve always dreamed of. It is your responsibility to roll up your sleeves and work out your potential to make visible that which exist but cannot yet be seen.
