Focus: The Power to Concentrate and Channel Your Potential

FocusFocus is the character trait of all successful people that helps them organize their lives around the values upon which their purposes lie. Representing the ability to concentrate on a goal, and to exclude diversions, focus gives direction to potential and makes achievers gain momentum and enter into the flow state in which potential is efficiently and effectively unleashed.

“One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular.” Anthony Robbin

All that your potential is made of needs to be totally allocated to the complete achievement of your mission on earth for you to be successful in life, and such allocation of potential can be obtained only by focus which is a vital key to the efficient and effective release of your potential.

There is yet an other dimension above the mental one, this is the spiritual dimension. It is in this dimension that things are really created first. Your intellect can only help you come up with new combinations of old concepts, ideas and plans. Creation takes place in the spirit where one by faith receives inspiration through the faculty of intuition. This is why at SucceedingLife.com, we believe that the starting point of one’s quest for his life’s purpose should be God. The spiritual realm is so vast such that one can get lost in it, but starting with God will put you on the right track.

A sniper cannot hit his target if he does not first see it through the telescopic sight mounted on the rifle of his firearm. His gun, which might be one of the most sophisticated ones with an incredible fire power, would completely be useless if he has never learned and developed the skill of accurate targeting.
Likewise you will never achieve your life’s mission if you do not have a clear picture of its end-result, and if you do not keep focus on it. According to Stephen R. Covey, “beginning with the end in mind” is the second habit of highly effective people. This habit is associated with the spiritual faculty of intuition and the mental faculty of imagination through which all things are first created either in the spirit or in the mind. What you see is what you get; you see in your spirit and(or) in your mind, and you get by focussing and releasing all your potential to and towards what you see.

Belief can take place in one’s mind or in one’s heart, it is then an opinion, a thought of possibility or a feeling of certainty about something. When belief takes place in one’s spirit, it is called faith which is “the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen”.

Focus gives direction to potential. Lack of it will cause you to be easily distracted, influenced by other people.
Focus is what you need to set daily, weekly, monthly and yearly goals that are aligned to your life’s purpose, the big picture your spiritual or mental eyes should be constantly looking at.
It is a trait that characterizes all achievers; it helps them organize their lives around the values upon which their purposes lie, making them live with integrity which is the cornerstone of effective commitment. Representing the ability to concentrate on one goal, and to exclude all other diversions or distractions, it is what makes them get momentum and enter into the flow state in which potential is efficiently and effectively unleashed
